Learning to draw more in 2019

I've got so much to learn when it comes to drawing. I think I made some good strides in 2018, especially all the dog portraits I worked on. The majority of the year was work in graphite and mostly dogs. I got some great insight and feedback showing Jaime the stuff I was trying to draw. As fall drew near, Jaime told me about Inktober and I tried my hand at it - first getting a couple of Sakura Pigma Micron pens (02, 05) and later a set of Copic Multiliners (0.03 up to 1.0 and small and medium brushes). It was enlightening trying to learn ink - crosshatching and shading and details with the finer nibs. I've gotten to a point where I like what I can do with dogs, but I feel like there's so much more to learn - especially with shadows, more shading, eyes, nose, fur... basically everything. ha!

In any case, I ended my year by trying to add some color to the ink I was laying down. Here's where the rest of my year begins - I'll keep doing dogs, but will also try to vary with different objects, graphite, color pencil, and continue with ink. Here's to a year of learning!
